Dumpster Rental Cost and Overage Calculator
Put the numbers off your quote in and see what the rental actually lands at — including the two lines that are not in the headline price: weight over the allowance, and days over the rental period.
Where it goes
This does arithmetic on the numbers you were quoted. It cannot tell you whether the quote is a good one — for that, get a second and a third, which is free and takes about ten minutes.
Ask these four before you book
“What is the overage rate per ton?”
The single most useful question on the call, and the one most quotes leave out. Without it the headline price tells you almost nothing about what a heavy load will cost.
“Is the container weighed, or estimated?”
A scale ticket from the dump is checkable. An estimate is not. Ask for the ticket to come with the invoice either way.
“How many days, and what after?”
Seven to fourteen is typical. If the job might run long, the daily rate matters more than a small difference in the base price.
“What is the dry run charge?”
A car in the way, a locked gate or a load above the rails and the truck leaves empty and bills you. Everyone charges it; the amount varies a lot.
