Local Dumpster Rental

Dumpster Size Calculator

Pick the job and roughly how big it is. You get a container size, the weight allowance that comes with it, and the reason — which matters more than the number, because the reason is what you repeat back to the hauler on the phone.

Anything heavy going in?

Tick these only if there is a real amount of it, not a few pieces.

A size calculator is a starting point, not a measurement. Tell the hauler what the job is rather than only the size you landed on — they place these every day and will move you up or down for a reason you had no way of knowing.

If you are between two sizes, take the bigger one

The gap in price is small

One size up is usually a modest difference on the quote. A second container because the first one filled is another delivery, another haul and another minimum charge.

You cannot fill above the rails

A load heaped over the top cannot legally be tarped, so the driver will refuse it and charge a dry run. The usable capacity is the walls, not the walls plus a mound.

Weight does not scale with size

A 30 yard does not come with three times the tonnage of a 10. Going bigger buys room, not allowance — which is exactly why heavy debris goes in a small box.
