Equipter Rental
A self-propelled dump trailer that raises to roof height, so tear-off comes off the roof and into the bin instead of onto the lawn. Roofers use them because the cleanup, not the tear-off, is what runs a job long.
When a equipter is the right call
Worth it for
- Roof tear-offs where the landscaping, driveway or pool would take the debris
- Tight lots with no room to set a roll-off near the work
- Jobs where you want the driveway usable at the end of each day
- Crews working several small roofs a week rather than one big one
Take a roll-off instead if
- High-volume debris — capacity is a fraction of a roll-off, so you are making trips.
- Anything you cannot lift into it. It is a catch bin, not a container.
- Work far from a disposal site, where the driving eats the labour saved.
What to ask before you book
The four answers that decide whether the quote you were given is the price you pay.
- Daily versus weekly rate, and whether delivery is included
- Capacity in yards and the weight limit — shingles hit weight fast
- Whether the hauler will take the debris, or whether you are driving it
- Height reach, against your actual eave height
Not sure this beats a roll-off?
For most jobs it does not — a roll-off is cheaper per yard and takes more weight. Tell us the job and we will point you at the companies near you that carry both.
